-----------------------------------------------------------------------
Welcome to Athens Macaroni Kid! I am very excited to bring you all the best local events, entertainment, recipes, giveaways, activities, etc, for your family to enjoy. Many of the events in the area are Free or very affordable. I feel that no matter what a family has in their budget they should be able to enjoy great activities.

I just want to introduce myself. My name is Sonya Howard and I am the new Athens Publisher Mom. I was born and raised in Athens and truly love my community. I am a wife and work at home mom of 2 wonderful children. Our daughter Jayivey is 9 years old and our son Camden is 2 years old. Camden has Down Syndrome and had open heart surgery when he was 5 months old. My husband and I felt that it was the best decision for me to stay at home with him for the first few years due to the many doctor appointments and therapy sessions he has throughout the week. Even though the transition from working in the finance field full time to becoming a stay at home mother was a little difficult, it has also brought so many blessings! I started my own party apparel business called Fizz N’ Fab Creations (which also donates a portion of the sales to the Down Syndrome Association of Atlanta), and now I am able to write the weekly Macaroni kid Newsletter! Again, thank you for subscribing. I appreciate any suggestions or feedback from my readers. Please leave any comments below or email me at sonyah@macaronikid.com.
